Hello Reader, We’re in the thick of summer and busy as ever in the studio. Here's a quick look at what’s new: 1. Animation in the MakingWe’re working on a new animation that shows how NAD supports energy production in mitochondria - and why this matters for health. Our client NADMED, based in Finland, has developed a new way to measure NAD levels accurately and affordably. Until now, NAD testing was expensive, mainly used in research, and not very reliable. This is the first tool that really makes it usable in clinical practice. It’s also a personal topic for me. Kids with chronic inflammation, ike those affected by PANDAS or PANS, often have mitochondrial issues. Their immune cells and neurons need NAD+ to function properly. But during inflammation, NAD+ gets used up quickly, which can slow healing, cause fatigue, and make symptoms worse. If we could track NAD levels in real time, we’d have a much better shot at supporting recovery with targeted supplements. 2. Animation DeliveredNew immunotherapy animation for Asylia TherapeuticsImmunotherapy remains one of the most promising and fast-evolving areas in biotech and we’re seeing a steady stream of exciting projects in this space. We just completed an animation for Asylia Therapeutics, which is working on a novel approach involving heat shock proteins (HSPs) and tumor antigens. The company even features our animation prominently on their website, which is fantastic to see. Many companies overlook this opportunity and fail to showcase valuable content that could engage and educate investors, partners, and patients. What makes this animation stand out?We used a hand-painted 2.5D style, part illustrated, part sculptural, that gives the science a tactile, organic feel. The textures are warm and layered, drawing the viewer in. Blood vessels, cancerous tissue, and protein interactions are rendered with a dynamic sketch-like quality, creating the sense that the science is alive and evolving. It’s informative, but also emotionally engaging - and that’s the sweet spot we always aim for. 3. Private news - from PolandI've been posting more personal photos on LinkedIn recently, and one thing has become very clear: quality matters. So I finally bought a proper camera. Something I can take on bike rides and use to pursue a new hobby that’s totally taken over: street photography. It’s a surprising passion. Street photography, like investor outreach, means pushing past awkwardness, approaching strangers, and hearing “no” more often than yes. But I’m enjoying it, both the photos and the process. And the best part? I’ve been using ChatGPT to get feedback on my shots, with suggestions on how to improve framing, lighting, and composition. It’s been a great learning loop. Hope to talk soon, P.S. Helping biotech companies raise funding with powerful animations
Hello Reader, It's been two weeks since we last connected — time for another update from Life Science Animation, where we turn complex biotech into clear visual stories (and somehow juggle family life with PANS/PANDAS along the way). 1. Animation in the Making We're deep into creating a 2D/3D animation for Danish biotech Cymab.bio, visualizing their innovative approach to "cold" tumors — those that hide from the immune system. The challenge: While immunotherapies work brilliantly when immune...
Hello Reader, Here’s what’s been going on lately in the studio — a mix of exciting projects, a fresh animation release, and some cooler moments at home. 1. Animation in the Making We’ve started early design work on a new animation that addresses one of the biggest public health threats of our time: antibiotic resistance. The first visual proposal still needs refinement, but it already captures the core idea. Each year, over 1.2 million people die from infections that no longer respond to...
Hello Reader, Lots going on at the studio right now, so let’s dive straight in: 1. New animation GIF from Satellos explaining DMD We’ve just wrapped up an exciting 3D animation for Satellos, and the full video will be released soon. After watching the final version, our client felt the voice-over wasn’t quite right - something that only really becomes clear once you see and hear everything together. Luckily, changing voice-over is no big deal. There are plenty of talented artists who can...
