Unpolished from Poland - Life Science Animation newsletter #1

Hello Reader,

First things first: Welcome to my newsletter!

Here’s your first behind-the-scenes look at what we’ve been working on at Life Science Animation.

1. From the studio

We’re developing a 5-minute animation to help parents of premature babies understand a clinical study.
Here's a look at early design proposals:

Real feedback we’ve received:

  • “The hair under the baby’s hat is unlikely - remove it.”
  • “Change the onesie to a diaper - newborns at this stage don’t wear onesies.”
  • “Add a vented mask and an umbilical line to better reflect the clinical setting.”

We often get this kind of detailed input, and we love it. Every comment helps us refine the story. That’s why we offer unlimited revisions: to get it just right.

2. Hot off the press

Here’s a sneak peek GIF from an animation we’re about to launch.
It’s for ASAP, a German project on AI-powered image analysis.

This video was part of their prize for winning a Life Science Factory pitch competition - and now, they’re using it to spark interest in future pitches and grant applications.

That’s the power of a clear, compelling story. If you're thinking about a video, imagine what yours could do.

3. Almost from the Baltic Sea

I had planned a 450 km bike trip along the Polish coast — postponed due to rain.
Instead: sunshine, a lake, and time with my son at Zakrzówek in Kraków.

It’s a stunning spot, almost right in the center of the city — crystal-clear water, free access, great cafés and food nearby. Honestly, the best city break you can imagine.

Talk soon,
Frank

P.S.
If you’re planning an animation in the next few months, just get in touch. I’m always happy to bounce around some initial ideas.

Hello Reader, It's been two weeks since we last connected — time for another update from Life Science Animation, where we turn complex biotech into clear visual stories (and somehow juggle family life with PANS/PANDAS along the way). 1. Animation in the Making We're deep into creating a 2D/3D animation for Danish biotech Cymab.bio, visualizing their innovative approach to "cold" tumors — those that hide from the immune system. The challenge: While immunotherapies work brilliantly when immune...

Hello Reader, Here’s what’s been going on lately in the studio — a mix of exciting projects, a fresh animation release, and some cooler moments at home. 1. Animation in the Making We’ve started early design work on a new animation that addresses one of the biggest public health threats of our time: antibiotic resistance. The first visual proposal still needs refinement, but it already captures the core idea. Each year, over 1.2 million people die from infections that no longer respond to...

Hello Reader, We’re in the thick of summer and busy as ever in the studio. Here's a quick look at what’s new: 1. Animation in the Making We’re working on a new animation that shows how NAD supports energy production in mitochondria - and why this matters for health. Our client NADMED, based in Finland, has developed a new way to measure NAD levels accurately and affordably. Until now, NAD testing was expensive, mainly used in research, and not very reliable. This is the first tool that really...
